Construction on a school zone improvement project on San Jose Boulevard (State Road 13) from St. Augustine Road to Via De La Reina Street is scheduled to begin next week.

American Lighting and Signalization, LLC was selected to complete the $596,000 project, which includes installation of two sets of strain poles for signing and signalization as well as installation of signs, pavement markings, curb and gutter, and other incidental construction. Completion is estimated in early 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

During construction, the public is encouraged to follow pedestrian detour signs and use caution in the area. Lane closures will not be allowed from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
