The addition of turn lanes at an intersection on State Road 26 is the primary focus of a Florida Department of Transportation project that began September 2020. Turn lanes will be added on State Road 26 at the intersection of Southwest 298th Street and Southeast 90th Avenue (both County Road 2085) at the Alachua and Gilchrist county line. The project will also include milling and resurfacing, some drainage improvements, and other incidental construction.
FDOT has hired Hicks Seal Coating and Striping, LLC / DBA Hicks Asphalt Paving and Concrete to complete the $744,000 project.
Daytime work is expected Monday through Friday, however, no lane closures are allowed from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily.
