Newberry Road (State Road 26) resurfacing
Overview

The $2.4 million resurfacing project will take place between Northwest 75th Street and Northwest 69th Terrace. As part of the project, the turn lanes to Interstate 75 will extended to reduce traffic backup onto Newberry Road and the northbound on and southbound off ramps at Interstate 75 will be widened.

Additional work will include new traffic signals, additional street lights, and widening of Northwest 69th Terrace. FDOT has hired American Lighting and Signalization, Inc., to complete the work.

Work is set to begin in early September, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting, and is expected to be completed Spring 2021.

Major construction activities will include mostly night work and motorists traveling Newberry Road or Interstate 75 at night can expect to see some delays. Single lane closures are allowed between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., and double lane closures are allowed between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
