Atlantic Boulevard (Monument Road to Anniston Road) Safety Improvements
Overview

FDOT proposes the following modifications to reduce collisions and enhance safety along the corridor:

  • Installation of a raised median along Atlantic Boulevard from Monument Road to Anniston Road in place of the existing two-way left-turn lane
  • Resurfacing and restriping the asphalt pavement within the entire project limits (just east of Monument Road through the Anniston Road intersection)
  • Marking all four pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Anniston Road with “Special Emphasis” crosswalk markings
  • Constructing an opening in the raised median near Library Road to allow full access for emergency vehicles from Fire Station 30

Hybrid Public Hearing (Tuesday, November 17, 2020)

A hybrid hearing will be held November 17, 2020, with an informal open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a formal presentation beginning at 6 p.m. Citizens may participate online via GoToWebinar or phone using the information below. Citizens who are unable to participate virtually may attend the hearing in person at the FDOT Urban Office Training Center located at 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204.
