Construction of a new bridge on Heckscher Drive (SR-A1A/SR 105) over Myrtle Creek began in late August 2020. This bridge will feature two 12-foot travel lanes, 10-foot shoulders on both sides of the roadway, and a 10-foot paved multi-use trail on the east side. Superior Construction is the contractor for the $4.9 million project. It is scheduled to be complete in fall 2021.
Traffic has been reduced to one way over the bridge and north and south of the construction zone. Temporary, video-monitored traffic signals have been installed to direct cars and bicyclists safely through the work zone.
