This project involves installation of new landscape material and plantings of various trees in the medians and rights-of-ways on Atlantic Boulevard (State Road 10) from the Arlington Expressway to Monument Road. Lafleur Nurseries and Garden Center, LLC was selected to complete the $240,000 project, which includes approximately four months of construction plus a two-year establishment period.
Plant species that will be installed along the project’s medians and rights-of-way include live oak, bald cypress, magnolia and crape myrtle. The project also includes installation of temporary irrigation systems to support the new plantings.
Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout the project. Posted speed limits will remain in place throughout the duration of construction. Work is expected to take place during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional lane closures.
The landscaping project has been developed as a concept in conjunction with District Two’s FDOTree program, an initiative created to educate the public about FDOT’s Northeast Florida landscaping programs. For more information, visit
