CR-231 at Union, Bradford county line Bridge Construction
Overview

Construction of a new bridge on County Road 231 at the Union and Bradford county line, over New River, is scheduled to begin later this month, time and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

The new bridge will be constructed beside the current bridge at a cost of $6.4 million. During construction, motorists will continue to use the current bridge until the new bridge is completed. Once complete, traffic will shift onto the new bridge and the current bridge will be demolished.

However, motorists should expect some lane closures throughout the duration of the project, though no lane closures are allowed from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Anderson Columbia Co., Inc., of Lake City, has been hired to complete the work.
