A project to resurface approximately 2.5 miles of roadway along Heckscher Drive (State Road 105) from west of Busch Drive east to the Fuel Farm began in May 2019.
Contractor Preferred Materials Inc. is the contractor for the $3 million project. In addition to milling and resurfacing, construction activities will include base work, shoulder treatment, drainage improvements, curb and gutter repairs and highway signage replacement.
The existing posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour will remain in place throughout the project. Earthwork is expected to take place during daytime hours, while paving work may occur overnight as well as during the day. No lane closures will be permitted from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. When lane closures are needed, drivers will be alerted in advance via portable, changeable message signs.
