State Road 20 Widening – 56th Avenue to County Road 315

Overview

FDOT began a widening project in May 2019 on State Road 20 from County Road 315 to SW 56th Avenue. The widening improvement project includes widening State Road 20 (map below) from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane urban roadway with curbs, gutters, medians, bike lanes, 5 foot sidewalk on the north side and a 10 foot multi-use path on the south side of the roadway. P & S Paving Inc. was selected to complete the $33 million roadway widening project.

Periodic traffic/lane shifts will be necessary to allow the contractor to safely complete work. Lane closures will be allowed Monday through Friday after 8:30 a.m.

Construction Open House (Tuesday, April 23, 2019)
The department is hosting a construction open house Tuesday, April 23 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Interlachen Community Center, 135 S County Road 315, Interlachen, FL 32148 to discuss roadway widening improvement plans on State Road 20 from SW 56th Avenue to County Road 315. Those interested in learning more information about the improvements are encouraged to attend. Project team members and FDOT staff will be available to answer questions, discuss traffic impacts and construction activities
