Cedar Key Bridge Replacement

Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began the replacement of two bridges in Cedar Key in September 2017.

Temporary bridges will be installed to maintain access while the old bridges are removed and new bridges are constructed.

FDOT has hired Anderson Columbia Co., Inc., of Lake City, to complete the $7.8 million project.

Replacement of both bridges is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.

The Florida Department of Transportation held a public hearing on August 30, 2016 to discuss the replacement of the C Street Bridge in Cedar Key, Florida.

Public Meeting (Friday, March 30, 2018)

A meeting was held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the replacement of the following bridges.

  • CR-456/Gulf Blvd. at Lewis Pass— Replace the existing bridge with a new bridge with two 10 foot travel lanes, 3 foot shoulders and 6 foot sidewalks on both sides of the road-way.
  • CR-456/Gulf Blvd. at Daughtry Bayou—Replace the existing bridge with a new bridge with two 10 foot travel lanes, 3 foot shoulders and 6 foot sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
  • C Street Bridge at Cedar Key Channel—Replace the existing bridge with a new bridge with a 17 foot one way travel lane, 8 foot parking lanes and 5 foot sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
