State Road 16 at Green Acres Road Proposed Median Modification
Overview

This permit project proposes improvements to State Road 16 at Green Acres Road to enhance safety and traffic operations for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and other corridor users.

To improve safety and manage access at the proposed Green Acres Road entrance, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) would require the developer to construct a directional median at the intersection of State Road 16 and Green Acres Road in accordance with current FDOT median opening spacing standards.

Under the proposed configuration, westbound drivers on State Road 16 would be able to turn left onto Green Acres Road. Drivers exiting Green Acres Road would be restricted to right turns onto State Road 16. A U-turn opportunity would be available approximately 500 feet east at the intersection of State Road 16 and Harvest Lane.

The proposed modifications are associated with a permit request from Southeast Investments Inc. to develop nearby properties for commercial use. The improvements are intended to enhance safety, manage access and support traffic operations along the State Road 16 corridor.

Construction of the proposed improvements would be fully funded by the developer at no cost to taxpayers.
