State Road 26 from U.S. 19 in Fanning Springs to just east of NW 2nd Street resurfacing
Overview

Construction is underway on a FDOT resurfacing project along 7.7 miles of State Road 26 from U.S. 19 in Fanning Springs to just east of NW 2nd Street in Trenton. The resurfacing project includes the removal and replacement of the upper layers of asphalt, drainage improvements and driveway rehabilitation throughout the project limits.

Additionally, the project will widen the roadway at Trenton Elementary School to allow for the lengthening of turn lanes and at SW County Road 313 to improve turnout radiuses.

Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT standards. Drivers can expect lane closures and flagging operations after 9 a.m. Monday through Friday as well as any time during the weekend. FDOT will prohibit lane closures in school zones from one hour before school begins until 30 minutes after school begins and from one hour before school ends until 30 minutes after school ends.

FDOT selected V.E. Whitehurst and Sons to complete this $6.7 million project by spring 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
