The Florida Department of Transportation is making improvements to State Road 55 (U.S. 19) from Northwest Main Street to Otter Creek. The project includes milling and resurfacing, shoulder improvements, drainage upgrades, curb and gutter work, bridge improvements, sidewalks and bicycle paths, and other incidental construction.
Anderson Columbia Co. Inc. was awarded the $15.7 million construction contract.
Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout construction. Work is expected to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To minimize impacts during peak morning travel, lane closures will be restricted from 6 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday due to school and commuter traffic.
