Construction began the week of August 24, 2026, on improvements to State Road 500 (U.S. Alt. 27) at County Road 335A and State Road 49 (U.S. 129) at Northeast 30th Avenue.

V.E. Whitehurst was selected to complete the $2.2 million project, which includes median modifications, milling and resurfacing, widening, base work, shoulder treatment, and other incidental construction.

Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout construction. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures in the project areas. No lane closures will be permitted from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
