A pedestrian safety improvement project is planned for construction east of Hendricks Avenue (State Road 13) near Cedar Street in Duval County. The department plans to construct a bulb-out for a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) pedestrian crossing. This bulb-out will require the removal of four parking spaces on the existing parking lane in front of the Southside Tennis Complex at 1539 Hendricks Avenue.

This pedestrian improvement project is designed to improve safety and provide an efficient way for pedestrians to cross the street safely. The project is estimated for completion in late 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
