Subsequent Public Hearing (In-Person) (Tuesday, June 4, 2024)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two invites you to the Subsequent Public Hearing for the US 17 (Main Street) Widening from south of New Berlin Road to Airport Center Drive (Financial Management No. 209411-8) to discuss the improvements for US 17 in Duval County, Florida. This hearing serves to inform the public of the preferred alternative and serves as an official forum providing an opportunity for the public to express their opinions and concerns regarding the project.

For your convenience, there are several options to participate in the public meeting including an in-person option and a virtual/online option. All participants, regardless of the platform they choose, will receive the same information on the proposed project and all comments received in-person, virtually or electronically, will be given equal consideration.

Open House:4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Presentation & Comment Period: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Oceanway Community Center, 12215 Sago Ave W, Jacksonville, FL 32218

Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the meeting or mail/email them to the address provided no later than June 16, 2024, to be included as part of the official Public Hearing record.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or Persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Michael A. Brock, PE at (386) 961-7707 at least seven (7) days prior to the hearing.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
