I-295 Resurfacing from Beach Boulevard (U.S. 90) to St. Johns Bluff Road
Overview

A resurfacing and roadway improvement project on I-295 from Beach Boulevard (U.S. 90) to St. Johns Bluff Road began in late March. The project includes milling and resurfacing I-295 and the Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road ramps, shoulder treatment, guardrail and drainage improvements, sidewalk ADA upgrades, installation of countdown pedestrian timers and traffic signal upgrades at the Beach Boulevard intersection, new highway signage, lighting and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) construction.

Drivers should expect nighttime and overnight lane closures during construction. Lane closures will not be scheduled during peak travel times or on holidays or special events. Preferred Materials, Inc. is the contractor for the $10.4 million project. It is scheduled for completion in spring 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
