State Road 211 from San Juan Avenue to I-95 Resurfacing
Overview
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to resurface Riverside Avenue (State Road 211) from San Juan Avenue to I-95 (under the Fuller Warren Bridge) in summer 2024. In addition to milling and resurfacing, improvements include the addition of bike lanes, shared use lane markings, sidewalk upgrades, signage, and lighting upgrades.

Hybrid Construction Open House (Thursday, May 23, 2024)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a hybrid construction open house on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend the open house in-person at the Jacksonville Urban Office Training Center, 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204, virtually by registering at the link below or by phone at (562) 247-8422 and entering access code 478-681-968. Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the resurfacing project directly from project team members.

Access Management Public Meeting- CANCELLED (Tuesday, August 29, 2023)

Due to the potential for inclement weather, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has cancelled the Tuesday, Aug. 29 public meeting to discuss proposed parking reconfiguration on State Road 211 between St. Johns Avenue and Marquette Avenue.

Access Management Public Meeting (Wednesday, February 15, 2023)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a hybrid access management public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. with a public comment period beginning at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting in-person at the Jacksonville Urban Office Training Center, 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204, virtually by registering at the link below or by phone at (631) 992-3221 and entering access code 816-697-148. Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunity to ask questions and make oral statements that will become part of the public record.

The public meeting will cover proposed improvements as part of the Riverside Avenue (State Road 211) resurfacing project (FIN 445431-1), currently scheduled to start in summer 2024. In addition to milling and resurfacing, improvements include the addition of bike lanes, shared use lane markings, sidewalk upgrades, signage, and lighting upgrades. Under the preliminary plans, to enhance safety, some parking would be removed to improve intersection/driveway sight lines. However, frequently used parking with a safe operation history will remain.
