Resurfacing and construction of a new roundabout on U.S. 41, just north of Lake City, is scheduled to begin in September 2021.
The $6.1 million Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 7, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. Work will include roadway resurfacing from U.S. 90 to Interstate 10, as well as the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Northwest Bascom Norris Drive.
Anderson Columbia Co., Inc., has been hired to complete the work.
Due to the nature of the construction, motorists should expect lane closures and detours that may change depending on the stage of work. Lane closures will not be allowed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Sunday for resurfacing operations. During roundabout construction, motorists should expect traffic shifts and detours depending on the construction phase.
