Work on a resurfacing project on I-95 at the Zoo Parkway (State Road 105/Heckscher Drive) and Main Street (U.S. 17) interchange began Monday, July 26.
Preferred Materials, Inc. was selected to complete the project, which consists of milling and resurfacing, base work, drainage improvements, curb and gutters, lighting, highway signage, sidewalks, guardrail, utility work and other incidental construction. In addition, two railroad crossings within the project limits, on Heckscher Drive and Zoo Parkway, will be resurfaced.
Construction within the work zone, from Broward Road to Rota Avenue, will occur weekdays, weekends and weeknights. No lane closures or detours are allowed during peak travel times or on holidays or special events. Digital message boards will be placed several days ahead of time notifying drivers of upcoming lane closures or detours associated with the work.
