U.S. 1 from S.R. 207 to the St. Augustine City Gates resurfacing project
Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a resurfacing project on U.S. 1 (State Road 5) from State Road 207 to the St. Augustine City Gates in June 2021. This work will include:

  • Roadway paving
  • Concrete rehabilitation
  • Removal of on-street parking along U.S. 1 from State Road 207 to the St. Augustine City Gates
  • Install bicycle lanes

On-street parking removal is being done to install buffered bicycle lanes. To safely complete this work, daytime and nighttime lane closures will be necessary.

Public Hearing (Monday, November 18, 2019)

A public hearing is scheduled Monday, November 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Johns Health Building, Muscovy Conference Room 200 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, FL 32084 to discuss the proposed median closures and installation of bicycle lanes. A public comment period will begin at 6 p.m.

Project documents will be available for review at the public hearing and at www.nflroads.com on November 8, 2019. Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of or in addition to oral statements may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Eric Shimer, 2198 Edison Avenue Jacksonville, Florida 32204. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before November 28, 2019 will become part of the public hearing record.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
