Waldo Road (State Road 24) Lighting
Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) begann a lighting improvement project on Northeast Waldo Road (State Road 24) in September 2020. The project will take place between University Avenue (State Road 26) and Northeast 39th Avenue (State Road 222). The $601,000 project will be completed by Chinchor Electric, Inc.

The project will include the installation of new light poles and the removal of existing light poles, sidewalk restoration, and other incidental construction.

The project is expected to be completed Summer 2021.

Motorists should expect both daytime and nighttime work, though lane closure restrictions are in place to alleviate congestion at peak traffic times – no lane closures are allowed from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
