U.S. 17/State Road 5/Main Street Broward River Bridge
Overview
The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin work on the U.S. 17 (State Road 5) Broward River Bridge replacement project in June 2022. The project includes the replacement of the current bridges with one newly constructed bridge, new median barrier wall and new sidewalk on the eastside of the new bridge. During construction, lane closures of the current bridge will be implemented in order to facilitate construction. Superior Construction was selected to complete the $14 million project by 2024, weather and schedule permitting.

Hybrid Public Hearing (Wednesday, October 21, 2020)

A Hybrid Public Hearing is scheduled for October 21, 2020 with an open house being held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the formal hearing beginning at 6:30 p.m. You may join the public hearing through Go To Webinar (see link below) or calling into the number below. Citizens who are unable to participate virtually may attend the hearing in person at the FDOT Urban Office Training Center located at 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, citizens are strongly encouraged to use the virtual options. Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunity to ask questions and make oral statements that will become part of the public hearing record.
