The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a landscaping project this summer that will focus on the I-10 and Chaffee Road interchange. The landscaping project will have a naturalistic approach utilizing a diverse combination of plant species. The project will also include installing a temporary irrigation system and other incidental work items related.

Lafleur Nurseries is completing the $255,000 landscaping improvement project by early 2021, weather and schedule permitting. This estimate does not include the typical two-year establishment period.

This landscaping project has been developed as a concept in conjunction with District Two’s FDOTree program, a new initiative created to educate the public about the Florida Department of Transportation’s Northeast Florida landscaping programs.
