University Avenue (State Road 26) Safety Improvements from Waldo Road (State Road 24) to Southeast 31st Street
Overview
This project proposes improvements to University Avenue (State Road 26) from Waldo Road (State Road 24) to Southeast 31st Street to increase safety for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, children and other vulnerable users of the corridor.

The FDOT and the City of Gainesville propose the following improvements:

  • Traffic signal adjustments
  • Crossing enhancement and addition of new crossings
  • Addition of bicycle facilities
  • Median modifications
  • Sidewalk widening
  • Intersection modifications

Staff and consultants will be available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. to answer questions and accept comments related to the proposed improvements.
