The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a construction open house for the San Jose Boulevard/Hendricks Avenue (State Road 13) from Cornell Road to San Marco Boulevard resurfacing and improvement project that will be starting in January.
The open house is Thursday, December 7, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, Room D-4, 4001 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
Those interested can stop by anytime between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. to learn more about the project, including timeframe, construction activities, traffic impacts and other details. Project staff will be available at the meeting to answer questions. This is an informal open house and no presentation is scheduled.
The project includes resurfacing three miles of roadway, restriping the shoulders to provide for new bicycle lanes, and the removal of on-street parking from Dunsford Road to San Marco Boulevard and from Cornell Road to Peachtree Circle North.
Duval Asphalt, Inc. of Jacksonville is the contractor for the $5.4 million project. It is scheduled to start in January 2018 and be complete in spring 2019, weather or unforeseen circumstances permitting.
