State Road 5/U.S. 1 resurfacing from North Ponce De Leon Blvd to Cross Ridge Drive

Overview

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to let a resurfacing improvement project on State Road 5/U.S. 1 from North Ponce De Leon Boulevard to Cross Ridge Drive in early December 2019.

The resurfacing project work will include milling and paving the roadway, new sidewalk installation from Fairbanks Street to Big Oak Road, curb and gutter work and other incidental construction items. Daytime and nighttime lane closures are expected to safely complete paving and roadway striping.

Access Management Hearing (Monday, June 3, 2019)

The Florida Department of Transportation will be holding an Access Management Hearing Monday, June 3, 2019 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Main Library, 1960 N. Ponce De Leon Boulevard in St. Augustine, Florida.

The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss the department’s proposal to close the median on State Road 5/U.S. 1 south of the north Northrop Grumman entrance to reduce conflicts and meet current median opening spacing standards.

Project documents will be available for review at the public hearing and at www.nflroads.com by May 27, 2019. Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of or in addition to oral statements may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Nelson Bedenbaugh, 1109 S. Marion Avenue, Lake City FL 32025. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before June 13, 2019 will become part of the public hearing record.
